Seeing Through the 9/11 Scam

The night before he left office President Dwight Eisenhower made a very unusual speech. Here was one of the greatest military leaders of World War II warning the American people that the worst threat to our liberty came from within - a group of government insiders he called the "Military Industrial Complex".

For over 40 years the Military Industrial Complex used soviet communism as a boogey man. They used it to strike fear into the hearts of our people. Instead of creating a universal health care system for all Americans, we instead spent our money on a vast military machine we hoped would protect us from the Soviet menace. 

Instead of day care for our families, fully funded Social Security for our elders and free college educations for our young, year after year we continued to squander our national fortune on boondoggle military weapons systems that fattened the wallets of the Military Industrial Complex insiders.

But suddenly in 1989 the unthinkable happened. Soviet communism collapsed. The CIA didn't see it coming. The Pentagon didn't predict it. It just happened.

All of a sudden the Military Industrial Complex had lost it's prop. It now lacked a threat with which it could frighten the American public into paranoia. They needed a new boogey man - but who could they find?

No one nation would do. Iran could be a potential enemy but their tiny military will never scare middle class Americans living in the heartland.

In 1993 I was attending a cocktail party where this subject came up. I predicted that the MIC boys were working overtime scouring the globe for a new threat.

Then it suddenly hit me - the only group that would qualify, the only group that was foreign enough, threatening enough and not confined to one easily defeated nation were the Muslims. They were ideal for the role.

I do not believe in conspiracies. But I do know for a fact that people will always operate in their own best interest and that is precisely what happened here.

When the first reports of an upcoming terrorist attack surfaced, the CIA and military took steps to determine the nature and scope of the planned attack. If the attack were to be a large scale operation designed to kill massive numbers of Americans using biochemical, nuclear or biological weapons - it would have to be stopped.

But in the case of the 9/11 attacks the intelligence clearly indicated that the attack would be limited to the hijacking of several aircraft. No weapons of mass destruction would be involved.

I have no doubt whatever that the White House knew of the attack. It's a fact that 5 Israeli men were arrested after watching and photographing the 9/11 attack from across the Hudson. When they were taken into custody their leader said "We were only documenting the event". Several days later he quickly fled the country and returned to Israel. If the Israelis knew of the attack you'd have to assume the White House had prior knowledge.

But here is what most Americans don't grasp. Even though the White House knew of the impending attack, it was in their interest to allow it to unfold.

The Military Industrial Complex badly needed a new boogey man and this attack was perfect for their purposes.

During the Clinton administration there was a great deal of talk about something called the "Peace Dividend". The thinking was - since the Soviet Union was no longer a threat we didn't need such a huge military.

So let's take a hundred billion or so out of the military budget and use it to bolster Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare and a dozen other entitlement programs. Let's use it to finally, at long last, create a universal health care system for all Americans. The thinking at the time was "what are we going to do with all this money?"

This kind of talk must have frightened the Military Industrial boys to death. The thought of losing their grip on all that loot must have caused them many sleepless nights. Rest assured they had no intention of surrendering one this dime.

But in the end they got their new boogey man - the Muslims. And we're right back where we started - widespread paranoia induced by a new threat. And there are other benefits. When flags are waving dissent is effectively silenced. Homeland Security spending is through the roof and the Military Industrial Complex gang are back in the money. Large and in charge.

And trembling with fear the American people are ready and willing to sacrifice what hundreds of millions of others enjoy in order to keep our nation safe from those new villains - the blood-thirsty Muslims. 

Always remember - when someone is trying to scare you - they want to use the fear to control you. Fear is the most powerful emotion and the master manipulators know this and take full advantage.

When our economy collapses, which could happen any day now, we'll look back and wonder how we could have been so stupid as to allow such a small group of greedy criminals to squander our national fortune and spend our once great nation into bankruptcy and economic collapse.

After all, one of our most respected and loved Presidents gave us ample warning. But we weren't listening and we're not listening still.

If only the American people could see through the scam, America could become the truly great nation our founding fathers envisioned so long ago.
