The Coming Southern Migration

Given the increasing demand for a stagnant world supply of oil, eventually electrical brownouts and rotating blackouts will become commonplace.

As the electrical supply becomes less and less reliable, dealing with cold winter nights will become less an issue of comfort and more an issue of sheer survival.

Can you imagine how miserable life will become in the northern states when random blackouts hit during the coldest winter months? When are brown-outs and black-outs most likely to hit? They happen during periods of peak power demand which usually occur during the hottest summer days and also during the very coldest winter nights.

Losing your air conditioning during a hot day may leave you sweaty and uncomfortable for a few hours but imagine what it would be like to suffer a blackout around midnight on a night when the mercury is scheduled to plunge down to ten below!

You would be in abject misery within an hour and in several more hours your pipes would start to burst. The damage to your home could be considerable. Your homeowners insurance may protect you now but in the future you can expect the insurance companies to reduce or even eliminate "burst pipe" flood coverage as their potential losses could be staggering.

When the masses figure out what's happening you can expect an exodus to begin. Retirees and others who are financially able to will bundle up their possessions and head south to warmer climes. 

Home prices in the warm sunny states of the south will soar and prices up north will plummet, once the migration shifts into high gear.

Now is the time to buy up unimproved building lots in the southern states. If you want to make a profit off this stampede, you'll have to get in early and buy up land or options before the masses are on the move.
