Reductions. Who Are
They Trying to Fool?

At the G20 meeting leaders
promised to cut their governments spending a whopping 50% by 2013!
This is pure nonsense. It will never happen!
Over the past year all the leaders of the industrialized countries
(including President Obama) have announced their intention to
substantially reduce government spending across the board.
Though on the surface their
promises sound reassuring, non has offered any detail on exactly how
they plan to achieve this lofty goal.
How will Obama slash
government spending in the U.S.? Perhaps he should trash the ADC
program and we call all watch as thousands of children starve.
Or perhaps he could halve
social security retirement payments which would throw tens of
millions of seniors into the gutter.
Or how about all those
veterans benefits? They cost untold billions, and maybe our vets
coming back from Iraq without legs won't mind us not providing them
with artificial limbs.
The bottom line here is a
simple one. A substantial slice of the American public is directly
or indirectly dependent on some sort of government program. Slash
any one of these programs and terrible, immoral things will happen.
With our economy in dire
straits, more people than ever are dependent on their good old Uncle
Sam. And they and their elected representatives are going to fight
for every nickel - make no mistake!
In order to have any real
impact on overall government spending, massive reductions in social
security and Medicaid payments would be required. And those cuts are
political suicide - every politician in Washington knows that.
